What if you can't be there (like in a pandemic)?

1. For yourself: Write a letter to your loved one, read it out loud, then burn the letter or put it in a box, and bury the box.

2. In memory of: Ask everyone in your family - and people who loved this person - to mail their favorite stories/memories about the loved one. Gather the letters and read all of them together. Read yours last. Then you can choose to burn them, bury them in a box, or just keep them in a special place.

3. The letter can be what you want to say to this person or things you remember about them or whatever you like. There’s no right answer.
